East Oakland-Hayward Section
of NCNW
Programs

NCNW integrates social justice into our core mission by advocating for women of African descent and their families on issues like education, health equity, economic empowerment, and civic engagement. Our Section works to address racial and gender disparities in education, healthcare, employment and the legal system.

Community Giving Program

The East Oakland-Hayward Section, along with our affiliate organizations and community partners, promotes policies and programs to dismantle systemic barriers and achieve a more just society, focusing on equitable access to resources, improved education, healthcare, and career advancement.

Panty Pantry

Our members were deeply moved to learn that as a part of sexual assault investigations, the panties of female victims were retained as evidence, and these women were sent home without their panties. This realization that these survivors had not only endured the trauma of an assault, but were left without essential undergarments stirred the women of NCNW to action. Our Panty Pantry Program has been collecting and donating panties since 2018.
